Frank O’Keeffe, Deirdre McSherry and Lena O’Connor are off to Umag in Croatia later this week as members of the Irish team in the ITF Young Seniors World Team Championships.
The ITF Young Seniors World Team Championships is the highest ranked event on the ITF Seniors Circuit for male and female players in the age categories of 35-45 and all at Nenagh LTC are particularly proud that 3 of the club’s players are on the Irish team.
Frank, Deirdre and Lena will be joined on the Irish team by other North Munster players, Aoife O’Neill, Deirdre Collins and Kevin Rea, all of Limerick LTC. The championships run from Mon 1st – Sat 6th May.
This will be Frank O’Keeffe’s second time playing in these championships. Frank was a member of the Irish team at the 2015 Championships in Turkey.
Nathan Slattery performed very well at the National U.12 Singles Matchplays at Limerick LTC last weekend, achieving a highly commendable 6th place ranking among an elite group comprising the top 16 under 12 Irish boys. Over the weekend he defeated two players ranked in the top 10 and narrowly lost another match in a tie-break (7-10) to the 6th rank player.
Nathan is a busy young man at the moment. Over the weekend of 16th/17th April he was a finalist at the Mullingar U.12 open. This weekend he will be playing in a Category 1 junior tournament at Malahide.
Don’t forget closing date is Mon 3rd may – all entry details here – http://www.nenaghltc.ie/permanent-tsb-interfirms-2016-may-9th-28th/
