There was mixed luck for the Nenagh Teams this weekend in Summer Cup. Both the Grade 6 Mens and Ladies Teams were taking on Ennis at home in Nenagh.
The ladies team of Lena Grace, Richelle Treacy, Emer Gleeson and Emma Kearns defeated Ennis by 3/1 and qualified for the final which will take place on Sun 25th Sept. Congratulations ladies that’s some achievement!
The men (Stephen Devanney, Paudie Hickey, John Lehane and Denis Ley) unfortunately came out on the wrong side in an exciting contest, losing 2/3, the dreaded super doubles deciding the issue.
Tony Cahill Jewellers President’s Prize 2016
The Tony Cahill Jewellers sponsored President’s Prize takes place this week at Nenagh LTC. There’s a very big entry for the graded ladies doubles and mens doubles events. Group matches are on Wednesday and Thursday night and the play offs and finals are on Friday night.
The draw should be up online by Tuesday – all are welcome on the Wednesday/Thursday/Friday nights to enjoy refreshments and some great tennis!

Well done to all those Nenagh LTC players who made the trek each night down to Cashel for the Larkspur Open – it’s always an enjoyable tournament and Nenagh Players were praised for their support conduct and enjoyment of the tournament – so always a good sign!
There were some good wins in the finals for Nenagh Players – Anne-Marie D’Arcy and Emmae Mulqueen teamed up in the Ladies Grade 1-2 to beat fellow Nenagh Members Lena and Noelle O’Connor.
Matty Ryan playing with Sinead Dunne won the Mixed Grade 1-2.In Grade 6 Men’s Denis Lay partnering Michael Ryan were also triumphant. A win in the Men’s Grade 1-2 was also recorded for Frank O’Keeffe and Donal Flannery.
Runners-Up spots went to Gemma Flynn and Sharon Young in the Ladies Grade 5, Sharon Young and John Ryan in the Mixed Grade 5 and John Sheehy and Lisa Givens in the Mixed Grade 6.
