Nenagh and Puckane players were out in force at the Larkspur Park Senior Open in Cashel recently and did very well indeed. Frank O’Keeffe teamed up with Puckane veteran Donal Flannery to win the main Mens doubles title. Sisters Lena and Noelle O’Connor were finalists in the equivalent ladies final.
Bryan McGahey was in top form, appearing in 3 finals, 2 of which were above his normal grade. Brian and Noelle O’Connor won the Gr 3 Mixed title and then joined Gary White to win the Gr 4 Mens title. He was also runner-up (with Larkspur man Camillus Croke) in the Mens Gr 3 final.
Gemma Flynn and Sharon Young were unbeatable when teaming up to win 2 titles. They won the ladies Gr 5 and Gr 6 Ladies titles securing their promotion to Grade 5. And congratulations also to Mike Molloy and Claire Ley who won the Gr 6 Mixed title.
Congratulations to Gemma Flynn, Sharon Young, Claire Ley and Doireann Kennedy who were victorious against Lower Aghada in their Semi Final clash winning a place in the Summer Cup Final. Well played girls all summer! So far the girls are the only Nenagh Team through to the Finals – we still have Grade 5 Mixed A left to play their semi-final against Carrigaline on Sunday – Good Luck! Well done and thanks to everyone that represented the Club this summer.
